In the Community: What's In Bloom
Giant-Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum)
This tall (up to 90 cm) member of the Mint family grows at the back of the RSM’s native plant garden, typical of its natural habitat on the edge of tree and shrub groves and thickets. The bluish-purple flowers nodding on top of square-shaped stems are sweet smelling and attract bees and butterflies. When the July-August flowering period is over, goldfinches arrive to eat the seeds.
