In the Community: What's In Bloom
In 1994, a volunteer group came together with the idea of planting native prairie grasses and flowers in a display bed on the east side of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Since that time, the native plant garden has provided Museum and Wascana Park visitors with the opportunity to enjoy and learn about the wildflowers found in Saskatchewan and the western Canadian prairies.
Today, tending the RSM's Native Plant Garden is in the hands of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum and Nature Regina. We hope to be able to maintain the garden for many years to come.
Visitors can help preserve the garden by staying on the paths and resisting the urge to pick plants and flowers. Below you will find some of the wildflowers that are planted in the RSM's Native Plant Garden. Please note that some bloom times may not be typical and not all wildflowers bloom each year.
