SaskTel Summer Cool Camps

For kids going into grades 1 to 5, our Summer Cool Camp 2017 line-up includes 4- and 5-day camps with themes including dinosaurs, wild animals, anthropology, Saskatchewan geography, ecozones, environment, marine life and plants. Children will have an opportunity to play, learn and explore nature past and present right in Regina! Every camp promises plenty of outdoor fun in Wascana Park and surrounding area. And for kids ages 9 to 12 our Young Explorers Hit the Road Camp includes a field trip to Eastend, SK!

Registration

There are three ways to register for our 2017 camps:

Sasktel Summer Cool Camps promise to be jam-packed with indoor & outdoor fun, stories, crafts, games, experiments, gallery visits and more! Our multi-day camps always include free time play in Wascana Park and may feature special visitors, off-site activities like swimming and field trips to meet the scientists in our Research, Exhibits and Collections building. Our leader-to-camper ratio is a maximum of 1:10, and children are fully supervised from drop-off to pick-up. Camp days are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an Early Drop-off program available through pre-registration. Children must bring their own snacks and lunches.

Wascana in July | July 4 – 7

From rabbits and bees to islands and trees, this week we get an insider’s look at this beautiful gem in our city! This camp includes a field trip to Willow Island, swimming, Wascana-based games, crafts and activities. Join us as we explore our wild and varied neighbors – animals, birds, bugs, flora and fauna all in our own backyard.

Sask Attack! | July 10 - 14

Our amazing province deserves a camp all to itself! We focus on the four diverse ecozones of Saskatchewan and discover the beauty and unique characteristics of each one! Discover the Treaties that make up our province and the diversity of animals, flora and fauna that share our home. This week includes a field trip to Willow Island, swimming, gallery exploration, games, crafts, activities and so much more!

Dino Daze | July 17 – 21

We hit every stop as we make our way back millions of years to the time of the dinosaurs! This week includes gallery exploration, a trip to the Research, Exhibits and Collections (REC) building (the home of the Museum’s prized fossils), swimming, a chance to meet the paleontologists and do all things Dino. Join us in discovering dinosaurs that walked the Earth so many moons ago, some of them through our own backyard!

Young Explorers Hit the Road | July 24 – 28

For ages 9-12 - The adventure-hungry kids who come to this camp will learn amazing things about dinosaurs and the people who discover them! We spend the first part of this week exploring the galleries and artifacts in Regina, we then venture to Eastend, SK for 3 days and 2 nights. This camp promises to be filled with natural exploration, paleontological activities, and tons of fun at the RSM and the T.rex Discovery Centre!

Creepy Crawly Critters | July 31 – August 4

Jump into the world of creepy crawlies.  Have fun learning about bugs, slugs and everything in between.  Discover the colourful relationship creepy crawlies have with the rest of the world and how important they are in the cycle of life! Join us as we explore our small and varied neighbors –  all in our own backyard.

Wet n’ Wild | August 8 – 11

Explore the great mysteries of the underwater world at this 4-day camp! Discover past and present water creatures and how they live, play and fight to survive the depths of our lakes and oceans. Includes tons of liquid-based games, activities, crafts, swimming, and a chance to meet some wild n’ wet creatures.

From the furry to the finned, we look at each one of our wild friends with great detail and outline some of the most interesting creatures of all! This week includes gallery exploration, swimming, a guest visit with a museum pro, a trip to Willow Island AND so many WILD games, activities and crafts. Birds, mammals, reptiles, bugs –night and day - you name it, we got it covered!
